A diesel-fuelled new musical through the lives and lanes of female truckers, inspired by real-life stories of the road.

Listen in on late night confessions at the roadside chapel, pick up some country-fried wisdom at a Kentucky diner and join a wife and wife on their next 22-hour drive-athon. However far you’ve got to go, Mother Trucker shows how the most unlikely friendships help us carry the heaviest loads, and how the road home isn’t always the one you’re driving on.

Mother Trucker has been developed by award-winning, creative powerhouse Anna Pool. It is commissioned by Spitalfields Festival and PRS Foundation and has been supported by Slung Low, Mercury Theatre, Eastern Angles and Arts Council England.

Anna is a Composer and Theatre Maker, her previous work includes Ada & The Code Crusaders (English Touring Opera), More... Ghost Stories by Candlelight (HighTide/Shakespeare’s Globe), The Manningtree Witches (Mercury Theatre/Frantic Assembly) and The Go Between (Eastern Angles).

Fully-Loaded with some of the East's most talented performers, Mother Trucker is a heavy-duty celebration of the people who keep the wheels turning.
